Elina and Esa Alavillamo have created a new, progressive chamber rock –sound described as unique and previously unheard-of by the leading Finnish producers. The CoreBaroque sound consists of traditional pop/rock elements combined with nuances typical of baroque music: Opulent and rich soundscapes, overlapping melodies and a chamber string orchestra give the music a warm, intimate and unique tone. Classical piano arrangements together with lyrics full of life are the core of CoreBaroque music. Electric guitar and heavy rhythms of drum and bass represent neo baroque grandiloquence.

The music, lyrics and arrangements are made by Elina and Esa. Elina is the pianist and singer in the band and Esa is the guitar player. Esa also plays bass, drums and sings backing vocals on the debut album. Violinist Aleksi Santavuori (Lahti Symphony Orchestra), violist Atte Kilpeläinen (Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra), cellist Hannu Kiiski (Sibelius Academy) and bassoon player Tuukka Vihtkari (Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra) are also playing on the album. Mari Toivonen, Anna Santavuori and Maria Santavuori are singing the backing vocals. Album is mixed by Sami Koivisto and mastered by Svante Forsbäck.

The composition of players varies according to the nature of the performance. In minimum CoreBaroque means Elina’s singing and piano playing and Esa’s guitar playing. In order to perform the songs as they appear on the album, a drummer, bass player, chamber orchestra and backing vocalists are added to the line-up.
